About Stratcom

The Stratcom premise is: Big Agency Expertise coupled with an in-house focus. We work with a select number of clients so that we can provide personal, attentive, and flexible service. And we aim for our proactive, strategic focus to fit-in with a client’s existing corporate structure.

We believe there is a specific opportunity for consultants to provide high-level, value-added activity for the medium to large SME. The model maximises the service to the client while ensuring no duplication of resources already available in-house.

Skills

There are different ways to communicate or engage with your audience, and one size doesn’t fit all.

Stratcom offers an alternative to the business that wants the best service and great results, but with an eye on costs.

Effective communication is about helping your audience to understand, and move to action.  Our clients often work in complex areas and invest in their audience, helping them grasp what they do or what they are trying to achieve.

What We Do

Strategic Communications

Reputation Management

Communications define a company’s reputation almost as much as its actions. Strategic, considered, authentic communication creates reputation and can help rehabilitate it after a crisis.

Public Affairs

We work with and engage the groups which influence or impact on our clients, both internally and externally. We understand the power of the media, advocacy, communities or politics, to help achieve a client’s purpose.  And we advise on how to do that.

Healthcare

Stratcom has specific experience in healthcare and as a result is well-briefed on the various, complicated aspects of the sector and health policy. This is also where our CSR work lies: working pro bono for both the Straight Ahead charity and for a project offering a free site to the National Children’s Hospital

Traditional, Online and Social Media

Online and social media have created a raft of new platforms to communicate from.  Stratcom can help aggregate and prioritise them.  In short, we can make it all a bit simpler, streamlining campaigns to avoid using ineffective channels.

Speechwriting

Writing speeches is something we really enjoy at Stratcom – it gives us a chance to show-off our creative side.  In the past we’ve had a former Taoiseach, several politicians and Senators, NGO Chairs, a National Newspaper editor and numerous business people deliver our speeches.  And we’re tickled pink hearing them.

Trend Identification & Thought Leadership

Our ‘in-house’ approach means we know a client’s environment, competitors and public stakeholders, so we automatically focus on where new developments could affect them.  And where possible we find ways to exploit new ideas and trends, to give the client a competitive edge.

Crisis Communications

Clear, strategic thinking from an outside-source is requisite in an environment of high emotion.  It’s not possible to get everything right at a time of crisis, but it is possible to ensure you do the right thing and don’t create further, unintended damage.

Corporate Social Responsibility

Today, it’s neither possible nor realistic for the Government to provide every service to every worthy cause.  So, as it was in Dickensian times, it’s down to business people to make-up the shortfall and help wherever they can.

About Catherine Logan

Catherine Logan has worked in the Irish media and in Communications since the mid 1990s.  In that time she has worked all the angles: print journalism, TV production and presentation, followed by PR agency-life.  Clients have included Governmental Departments and Agencies, PLCs, Large Owner-managed companies, Non-profits, Interest Groups and Start-ups.

Today she works very closely with a small number of clients, giving strategic counsel and overseeing projects while enlisting the expertise of a network of professionals built over the last two decades.

She works with companies who want to engage with their audiences in a strategic and authentic way, which also supports the bottom line.
